Description
Bai Hu Tang calms high fever (acute infection), constant thirst / hunger, clears Heat from Qi level, eliminates Heat and Fire from Stomach, promotes generation of body fluids. NOTE: If high fever is not present, do NOT take this herbal.
Symptoms may include profuse sweating, great thirst, high fever, acute infection (encephalitis, meningitis, pneumonia, etc), irritability; tongue: red with dry-yellow or dry-maroon fur; pulse: floating-forceful-slippery-rapid or floating-forceful-rapid-overflowing.
Preparation: In stainless or ceramic pan, add 4 cups water and 1 muslin bag containing loose herbs. Bring to boil, reduce heat, then simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, cool slightly, then gently squeeze juice from herb bag. Store decoction in glass or ceramic container with a lid. Drink half in morning and remainder in evening.
Ingredients: gypsum fibrosum, anearrhena rhizome, glycyrrhiza radix, oryza sativa.
